Vogt Demo Day and 20th Anniversary to be held October 15 2020

Vogt Award Winners 2020

The Community Foundation of Louisville is proud to host the 20th Anniversary of the Vogt Invention & Innovation Awards and the 2020 Demo Day to be held on October 15, 2020 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. Don’t miss the opportunity to watch live presentations with introductions from special guests. Stick around to chat one-on-one with the founders in our virtual breakout rooms. This will be the first time the event is held virtually, thanks to production support from Louisville Business First.

“It is exciting to be able to bring this event to a wider-reaching audience than we ever have before,” said Mary Grissom, Senior Program Officer for the Community Foundation of Louisville. “With the virtual format, we are already hearing from investors across the country who will be able to jump online and see immediately what some of the hottest startups in Louisville are doing. It is great for our founders and further acknowledges the impact that the Vogt Awards have on our community.”

The Vogt Invention and Innovation Awards

With the announcement of the 2020 winners, the Community Foundation of Louisville is honored to have supported 84 companies with $3.5 million in Vogt Award grants throughout the program’s 20-year history.  Further, 40% of the winners have founders that are female and/or people of color.  And, over 42% of the businesses are still in business today with several that have surpassed the $1 million raise/revenue.

Each year a cohort of up to six coachable founders and entrepreneurs of promising, diverse startups, ready to take their business to the next level, are critically evaluated and selected. These startups are solving big problems and want to disrupt their industries with their solution through innovation, customer acquisition and strategic partnerships.

The six 2020 startups that were selected as recipients of a 2020 Vogt Award each receive $25,000 in non-dilutive grant funding and have completed a 10-week lean startup education program at the time of the demo day. They also receive coaching from scalable startup CEOs, industry mentorship and strategic introductions to help their businesses grow.
