How Generous Donors Helped 304 Students Pursue Their Dreams

Every summer, our team has the privilege of sharing life-changing news with students across Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Behind every scholarship award is a moment of celebration—a student realizing that their educational goals are within reach, a family breathing a sigh of relief, and a community coming together to invest in the next generation.

These moments don’t happen by accident. They happen because generous individuals, families, and companies choose to create scholarship funds that help students pursue their dreams. Through the Community Foundation of Louisville’s scholarship program, fundholders can honor loved ones, support causes they care about, strengthen workforce pipelines, or create opportunities for future generations. The Foundation currently works with more than 90 scholarship funds that support students pursuing a wide range of educational and career paths.
The Impact of Generosity in 2026
This year, the collective impact of our scholarship fundholders was extraordinary.
Together, they helped make possible:
- 345 scholarship awards
- 304 students supported
- 84 colleges, universities, trade schools, and other educational institutions represented
- Nearly $1.4 million awarded
While these numbers are impressive, they tell only part of the story.

Behind every award is a student pursuing a brighter future. They represent first-generation college students taking the next step toward a degree. They represent future teachers, nurses, artists, engineers, tradespeople, entrepreneurs, and community leaders working toward their goals. Most importantly, they represent opportunities that were created because someone believed in the power of education and chose to invest in another person’s potential.

When students receive financial support, they gain more than assistance with tuition, books, or living expenses.
