We’re Seeking Our Next CEO

The Community Foundation of Louisville has launched its search for a new president and CEO to advance positive change and amplify community impact throughout Greater Louisville and the state of Kentucky.

The search will identify a successor to retiring CEO Ron Gallo, whose six-year tenure expanded the state’s largest community foundation to more than $900 million in assets and over 2,200 charitable funds. In October 2025, Gallo announced his plans to retire this year, concluding a four-decade career committed to community philanthropy.

“Ron’s vision and commitment have strengthened our Foundation and inspired all of us,” said Community Foundation of Louisville Board Chair Lopa Mehrotra. “We thank him for his dedicated service and look forward to building on his legacy. As we turn the page to an exciting new chapter, we are energized by the opportunities ahead and are confident that, together, we will continue to drive positive change and lasting impact for our community. The future holds great promise, and we are enthusiastic about shaping it with bold vision and unwavering dedication,” Mehrotra added.

The search for a new president and CEO is being managed by The 360 Group, a national executive search firm with a two-decade track record of placing visionary leaders at philanthropic organizations.

Gallo will continue to lead the Foundation until a new CEO is selected, assuring continuity and a seamless transition.

“It has been a privilege to serve this extraordinary organization and the Louisville community,” Gallo said. “I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to advance our mission alongside such passionate colleagues and partners. I am fully confident the Foundation’s next leader will build on our momentum.”
