Help Kentuckians Recover from the UPS Plane Crash
Written by Christina Miller
This week has been heavy for our Kentuckiana community. On November 4, we faced a heartbreaking tragedy when a UPS cargo plane crashed in Louisville. The plume of smoke was visible across the city—a stark reminder of how quickly life can change.
Our hearts go out to the UPS family, the survivors, those who lost loved ones, and the emergency response teams who worked tirelessly to save lives. In moments like these, grief can feel overwhelming, but it’s also when we see the best of humanity shine through.
The Power of Community
Since the crash, neighbors and businesses have stepped up in extraordinary ways. Hundreds of free meals and cups of coffee have been shared with first responders. Volunteers have offered comfort and support. Local and state leaders acted swiftly to clear debris, assist survivors, and bring hope where it’s needed most.
These acts of kindness remind us that even in the darkest times, compassion lights the way forward.
How You Can Help
Now, we have an opportunity to make a difference together. We’re partnering with Mayor Craig Greenberg and Governor Andy Beshear to support the Team Kentucky Emergency Relief Fund—a fund created by Governor Beshear to help Kentuckians impacted by catastrophic events. Your donations will provide emergency relief to families and individuals affected by the UPS cargo plane crash. Every donation is a step toward healing and rebuilding.
- If donating from your Foundation fund, log in to our online portal and search for ‘Kentucky State Treasurer.’ Our grants team has added ‘Team Kentucky Emergency Relief Fund’ as a nickname to assist (view screenshot).
- If donating by credit/debit card or by mailing a check, donate here.
Thank you for showing what compassion looks like when it matters most. Together, we can turn heartbreak into hope.
