Heather Cash, JD

 

Heather Cash joined the Community Foundation of Louisville in January 2016 as the Director of Planned Giving. Her primary role is to develop relationships with professional advisors, donors and prospects of the Foundation to inform them about the services of the Foundation, and enhance their philanthropic experience. She also works with advisors and their clients to establish lasting gifts that will fulfill each client’s charitable dreams and improve our community.

Heather is a 2001 graduate of Centre College, and a 2003 graduate of Vanderbilt Divinity School, where she received the founder’s medal for the highest academic achievement in her class.  She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Louisville’s Brandeis School of Law in 2007, graduating cum laude.  While at the University of Louisville, Heather served as a member of the Brandeis Law Journal and received the Samuel L. Greenebaum Writing Award, the Marlin M. Volz Scholarship, and the IOLTA Public Service Fellowship.

Before joining the Community Foundation, Heather completed a judicial clerkship with Justice Lisabeth Hughes-Abramson on the Kentucky Supreme Court and practiced civil defense litigation at the law firm of Thompson Miller and Simpson, PLC, in Louisville.

Heather’s civic involvement includes volunteer work at the Legal Aid Society, and her interest in ethics and social justice has taken her to Nicaragua, Ireland and Thailand.  Heather is also a certified yoga teacher, and she teaches weekly hatha flow classes at Infinite Bliss Yoga and Yoga East.
