Gad Niyiragira

Gad Niyiragira has dedicated his career to assisting Louisville’s underserved and diverse communities, and he is excited to continue serving the city he loves as the Program Officer of Advocacy and Culture at the Community Foundation of Louisville.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Gad worked in various roles in government and government relations. He spent most of his career as an aide for Congressman John Yarmuth, where he assisted in returning over a million dollars to Louisville’s veterans and seniors, while also working with nonprofits and government bodies in securing federal dollars. Gad also served in various roles with Louisville Metro Government, and most recently worked as a government affairs director for the Greater Louisville Association of Realtors.

Gad is a proud product of the University of Louisville’s political science department—during college, he returned to assist as a youth worker at the same Boys & Girls Club he attended as a child. He worked to ensure that other children were provided the guidance, care, food, and mentorship that was offered to him as a club kid.

Gad spends his free time hiking in Bernheim with his wife, Christine, watching Peppa Pig with his daughter, Filomena, and volunteering as a Sunday school teacher for his church.
