Kevin Smith

Kevin Smith joined the Community Foundation of Louisville in January 2026 as Program Officer for Impact Investing. In this role, Kevin helps direct investments that strengthen our community—one project at a time. Kevin brings deep experience in nonprofit operations, client relations, and project management. His expertise spans public speaking and conference hosting, real estate, CRM systems, marketing, and more than a decade of building client relationships. This is complemented by a B.A. in Psychology from Wright State University. At his core, Kevin excels in collaborative problem-solving and forging lasting relationships that benefit everyone involved.

Growing up in the foster care system and being adopted at age 12 profoundly shaped Kevin’s views on family hardship, diversity, and community collaboration. This experience fuels his passion for social impact missions and the positive changes he wishes to bring to families and communities alike, through the work of nonprofit organizations. Getting his first exposure of nonprofit work at local nonprofit hospitals and outpatient centers, working with children and teens struggling with mental health. Kevin continued his nonprofit work by running a nonprofit post-adoption program for Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia for 5 years, while also developing his business in real estate. Kevin thrives most when working with people and teams to achieve something meaningful for families and communities alike.
