Louisville Youth Philanthropy Council Now Accepting Applications

The application process for the 2016-2017 Louisville Youth Philanthropy Class is now open.  We are encouraging prospective students to submit this LYPC Application Form for the opportunity to participate in this next session.  You can also download the applications at lypc.org.  All applications must be submitted by June 30th and in-person interviews of prospective candidates will be conducted throughout July.

The LYPC, a project fiscally sponsored by the Community Foundation, is a ‘triple play’ for our community: helping teenagers develop a philanthropic spirit at a young age; helping the community by awarding grant funding; and inspiring our youth to future service in the non-profit world – either as a career path, or as a volunteer. During the nine years of the LYPC’s existence, 168 students have participated from 27 public, private, and parochial schools from Jefferson and Oldham counties. As a youth-run council, they have made 26 different grants to organizations within Jefferson County totaling $140,000.
