2018 Vogt Awards Application Now Open

Do you know any early-stage entrepreneurs that are ready to take the next step with their business? Let them know that the 2018 Vogt Awards application period is now open. The Vogt Awards help early-stage, start-up companies develop into viable and successful businesses by providing non-dilutive funding, dedicated mentorship, workshops, and support. Applications for eligible companies will be accepted through June 1.

The Vogt Invention & Innovation Fund, endowed at the Community Foundation of Louisville by Henry Vogt Heuser, Sr., helps support Louisville’s entrepreneurial ecosystem; the Vogt Awards is the Fund’s marquee program, and is managed by Greater Louisville Inc.’s EnterpriseCorp.

“As Greater Louisville’s longest-running accelerator, the Vogt Awards gives locally-founded companies a chance to grow with not just funding, but also extensive support,” Ellie Puckett, Commercialization Director for GLI’s EnterpriseCorp, said. “No one is required to give up a stake in their company for that funding because this program is all about empowering entrepreneurs to take make the most of their vision.”

The Vogt Awards program provides robust mentorship and support services to up to six early-stage entrepreneurs. Each winner receives $25,000 in non-dilutive funding and an additional package of valuable services for early-stage entrepreneurs.

Previous Vogt Award winner, Mehdi Yazdanpanah started NaugaNeedles. When asked about the value of the Vogt Awards funding and program to his company’s success, Mehdi shared, “After we won the Vogt Award, our company’s success started to snowball. The Vogt Awards is a really valuable program and as a result of the award we gained attention and additional funding that was 30 times the amount of the original award.”

“We are hoping to see a diverse cross-section of entrepreneurs in this year’s applicants. In the past, we’ve welcomed companies with ideas disrupting a multitude of sectors, which is in line with Mr. Heuser’s vision for the Vogt Awards,” said Susan Barry, President & CEO of the Community Foundation of Louisville.

Once the application period closes on June 1, the Vogt Award winners will be selected in August, and the 10-week mentoring and support program will occur throughout the fall. The Vogt Awards continues EnterpriseCorp’s “Year of the Entrepreneur” in which multiple events and achievements highlight Louisville’s burgeoning startup scene.

The Vogt Awards program culminates with Vogt Demo Day in November where each winner is given the opportunity to showcase their business to the entrepreneurial community and share the progress they made thanks to the Vogt Awards program.

Applications are being accepted through June 1 and are open to entrepreneurs based in Louisville, surrounding Kentucky counties, and Southern Indiana. For all criteria and to apply, visit www.vogtawards.com.
