The Fund 4 Women & Girls
“I believe that as women, we must lead the way in finding solutions to the challenges of women and girls. Real solutions require a long-term commitment of both time and money, and The Fund 4 Women & Girls helps us make that commitment.” – Elaine “Cissy” Musselman
The Fund 4 Women & Girls was created when Women 4 Women, Inc. joined with the Community Foundation in 2002 to create a new partnership for meeting the needs of women and girls. In creating the partnership, the two organizations have ensured that the needs of women and girls in Kentuckiana will remain a priority for generations to come.
Created with an initial commitment of $1 million from Women 4 Women board members, founders and staff, The Fund 4 Women & Girls is your opportunity to make a lasting difference not only today, but for generations to come.
Grants from the Fund will be directed to programs that serve and benefit women and girls in Kentucky and Southern Indiana, particularly the Louisville area. The "Bold Goals Plan" adopted by Women 4 Women from their Benchmark 2000 study will provide guidance for determining grants awarded from the funds. Currently, grants are being awarded to run programs from the Bold Goals Plan, and further funding is needed to provide additional grants. Anyone interested in contributing to the Fund is encouraged to contact Cyndi Moreno at (502) 561-8060 ext. 1027.
The Fund will be overseen by the Women 4 Women Board of Directors. The Community Foundation will advise and assist Women 4 Women on grant making, work with supporters who want to make tax-wise gifts, and provide ongoing services for the program.
Establishing an endowment fund that will perpetually focus on the needs of women and girls is an important step for our community. The Foundation applauds the Women 4 Women organization for their leadership. To learn more about the Women 4 Women organization, visit their website at www.w4w.org.
